A spirited second half performance against Glen Maghera in Round 2 of the Elk Senior Championship has given Craigbane Seniors a glimmer of hope of reaching the quarter-finals stages. Minus Kieran Mc Elhinney, Aidy Mc Laughlin and Cathal O Kane, Craigbane came out in the second half and give an exceptional performance. With Gavin Conwell receiving his marching orders 5 minutes before the break, and going in at half time 3 points down, things were'nt looking so good. Two penalties were also awarded to Glen. One was saved magnificently by keeper Ryan O Neil and was very unlucky not to save the other one. Changes were made at half-time, with Rory Gormley cleaning up at corner back and Lee Moore causing havoc in the forward line, 14 man Craigbane advanced worthy winners making their opponents scoring nothing from play. Final Score: Craigbane 0-12 Glen Maghera 1-06.
The under 16's had a busy weekend playing at the Aidan O Kane Memorial cup at the Clann na gael festival. Craigbane entered two teams which proved a good day out for the young lads.
