Congratulations goes to Lee Moore and the Derry Minor team on reaching the All Ireland Minor Final on the 16 August at Croke Park against Galway. Lee scored 0-1 in Navan last weekend against Laois in the semi-final re-play where the Minors ran out worthy winners on a score-line of 4-07 to 1-11. Lee will also be looking to add his name along with 1983 winner Eddie Mc Elhinney and 2002 winner Cathal O Kane to the clubs growing All Ireland Minor winning medalists.
Craigbane Seniors crashed out of the Elk Senior Championship on Monday night against Loup on a score-line 0-09 to 0-05. Craigbane who were without the injured Fergal Crossan and the suspended Gavin Conwell put up a gritty performance in a low key, dull game at Swatragh. The Craigbane scorers were Lee Moore 0-03, Steven Devine and Alfie Dallas with 0-01 each. Craigbane were given a huge boost before the game as they welcomed Cathal O Kane back from America as he lined out at centre half forward. But there was bad news to come as Aidey Mc Laughlin received a straight red with minutes left to go and Alfie Dallas recieved a late dangerous and deliberate tackle from his opponent leaving him with a cracked a rib.
The Club Minor Championship was postponed this week and now will be re-fixtured after the All-Ireland Final.
Anyone looking to order tickets for the All Ireland final are urged to contact Club Secretary James Devine before this evening (Friday). Only paid up members are valid to order a ticket.
Anyone who ordered their Club Hoodies and Club Tracksuits with Claire Crossan are to lift them as soon as possible.
There was no Lotto Jackpot winner this week. The numbers were 03, 07, 09 and 16. The £50 Lucky Dip winner was Arlene Sharkey. Next weeks Jackpot now stands at £2,400.
